KJ Smith And Skyh Black Look Stunning in Malibu Engagement Shoot

The BET stars highlighted Black designers in their gorgeous photos.

Sistas star KJ Smith and All the Queen's Men star Skyh Black are shining examples of Black love in their engagement photos, which they shared this week on Instagram.

The gorgeous couple looked amazing dressed in designs from Black designers Matopeda and Eaden Myles.

Smith and Black are Florida natives, but Malibu holds a special place in their hearts. The couple told Essence that the sunny city was where they had their first date and where their wedding would take place—so it was the perfect destination for their engagement photo shoot.

“Standing on that ground with your partner and feeling the wind blowing and the sunset, it really turned into this spiritual thing where you felt like you could conquer the world together,” Black told the publication. “So it was so dope, the feeling of it even. I hope that transferred through the pictures.”

The pictures and videos are stunning as the couple gazes at each other with a bright blue sky as their background.

Smith plays Andrea “Andi” Barnes on Sistas. Earlier this year, she talked about what she has learned from playing the role, saying, " I have learned to love myself, honestly. Becoming Andi is taking me on this exciting, scary, and new journey of loving myself. And it’s been really cool and scary because the journey is so public. That’s why I had to go on it, because I know now that it’s bigger than me."

She added, "So, when I say Sistas has changed my life, I don’t mean it in the acting sense. I mean, it has changed my being, like on a molecular level."

The couple met on the show and stayed in touch. They began dating during the coronavirus pandemic and went public in 2021—announcing their engagement in December of that year.

They will tie the knot in Malibu this fall.
