Rod Wave Strangulation Victim Was Mother Of His Children, Court Documents Reveal
After Rod Wave’s arrest in Florida, more details have emerged about what happened.
On May 2, following a traffic infraction, Pinellas County police officers reportedly served a warrant out of Osceola County. They took the singer into custody on a charge of battery by strangulation. According to an arrest affidavit, Wave is being accused of choking the mother of his children, whom he was with for four years.
The alleged incident occurred on April 24 when the 22-year-old showed up at the unnamed woman’s home while she was sleeping. The victim subsequently choked her as she lay in bed until she could not breathe because he believed she was dating other men.
The woman also claimed their two children were inside the bedroom at the time. Wave then left for a short period before returning and accusing his ex-girlfriend of stealing his cellphone.
Additionally, the affidavit states Wave kicked storage shelves by the front door and took two photos from the wall before tossing them onto the porch and sidewalk. By the time police responded, Wave was gone.
Since his arrest, Wave reportedly posted a $5,000 bond and has been released.
