Megan Thee Stallion Responds To Fan After Leaving Nicki Minaj Out Of Top 5 Female Rappers

"It’s funny how you’re making nothing into something..."

While at the BET weekend show, Megan Thee Stallion caught up with Los Angeles-based radio show The Cruz Show to discuss learning Spanish, her fans (the “Hotties”) and balancing her personal life with her burgeoning rap career.

  • During the eight-minute interview, show host J Cruz asked Megan to name her top five female rappers.
“We got Lil Kim. We got Missy. We got Eve, we got Foxy, and we got Megan Thee Stallion,” the 24-year-old rapper listed.

  • While it was a perfectly valid list and a playful chance for Megan to brag on herself a little bit, the Barbz were quick to voice their displeasure at Nicki Minaj being left off the list. Taking to social media, fans lambasted the Fever rapper for not naming Nicki.

“It’s funny how these girls come into the game and like Nicki Minaj for a second then mysteriously all these female rappers inspired them,” one fan tweeted in a now-deleted tweet that was obtained by The Jasmine Brand.

Other fans were quick to point out that Megan has shown Nicki love and praised her previously in various interviews. But it didn’t take long for Megan to respond and defend herself against fans who were trolling her on social media.

  • “It’s funny how you’re making nothing into something...I can’t like the OG female hip hop artist? I can’t show love to more than one woman?” the Houston native responded.
