Erykah Badu Pays Fine and Gets Probation

The promotion Erykah Badu received from her "Window Seat" video may be priceless, but the singer paid a $500 fine and was sentenced to six months' probation for the clip last week.

The visual features Badu slowly disrobing as she walks toward the site where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. The clip ends with her getting shot once she sheds her last item of clothing.

As previously reported, Badu was charged with disorderly conduct when a Dallas resident complained about her "disregard for individuals nearby.

Badu explained her video to BET.com a day after the video went viral. "It was a very liberating thing for me," she continued. "I feel like I shed a lot of things, confronted a lot of fears. I hope I spoke for women and men and people who feel trapped under their own coverings, who wish to also be liberated.
