If You Ask Safaree, Nicki Minaj Isn’t Sincere In Her Support Of Cardi B

"I know how she is."

Cardi B's historic climb to the top of the charts with "Bodak Yellow" has garnered her praise from hip-hop's elite, fans, and others alike. From Missy Elliott and Lil' Kim to Nicki Minaj, a handful of Cardi's predecessors have welcomed her success with open arms.

But, if you ask Nicki's ex Safaree Samuels, the Head Barb's outpouring of support for the burgeoning Bronx femcee isn't exactly sincere.

During a recent sit-down with Complex's Everyday Struggle, the songwriter spoke openly about his highly publicized split, bizarre altercation with Meek Mill, and even revealed that Nicki is sweating over Cardi's seemingly overnight success. When asked if he feels his former fiance is intimidated by Cardi, he simply responds, "100 percent."

Safaree's implications grow even stronger when asked by Joe Budden to elaborate on his stance, to which he replies, "Because I know how she is." While Nicki did send a message of congrats to Cardi via Twitter when the news of her historic No. 1 was announced, Safaree chalks up the notion to one thing: "One thing you can't look like out here is a hater."

And how is Safaree so certain of Nicki's ill intent? If you ask him: "Once you know somebody, you don’t even have to second guess or wonder."

Take a look at Safaree's full remarks on Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, below.
