Super Bowl LVI is days away with the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals facing off at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Sunday (Feb. 13).
Although Super Bowl 2022 will take place at the Rams’ home stadium, it’s the Bengals who will have the unofficial home team advantage. This year’s game festivities surrounding the big night are heavily seasoned with some Black talent appearing right before the first quarter and during the star-studded halftime event.
As we prepare for the biggest night in the NFL, here is everything you need to know just before kick-off.
WHERE TO WATCH AND WHAT TIME?
The Super Bowl will be broadcast on NBC with kick-off starting at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. You can also stream the game this year on NBC’s Peacock app, the NBC Sports website and the NBC Sports app. Fans can also stream on Hulu Live TV, FuboTV, SlingTV, YouTubeTV, and DirecTV.
WHO’S SINGING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM?
Grammy-nominated country music artist Mickey Guyton is slated to sing the National Anthem. R&B crooner and six-time Grammy-nominated singer Jhené Aiko will perform “America the Beautiful.”
WHO’S PERFORMING DURING HALFTIME?
Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg and Eminem will take the stage to perform a mega-hyped halftime show. With Mary releasing her newest album, Good Morning Gorgeous on Friday (Feb. 11), and rumors of K. Dot possibly performing new music, it is safe to say that the halftime event will be full of surprises.
Deaf musicians Warren "Wawa" Snipe and Sean Forbes, will perform ASL (American Sign Language) during the halftime show, marking the first time ASL performers have ever been featured in a Super Bowl halftime show, Billboard notes.
