South Park Takes Aim at George Zimmerman in Upcoming Episode

Popular satire series takes on Trayvon Martin's killer.

Too soon to make jokes about the George Zimmerman trial? The guys at South Park don't think so. The politically-incorrect animated show will take aim at the man who killed Trayvon Martin in an upcoming episode called "World War Zimmerman."
In the episode, which also riffs off of the summer blockbuster World War Z, Cartman is deeply disturbed by a single person who he sees as a threat to all humanity. He races around the country to put an end to patient zero, the ticking time bomb that is Token.
Created by Trey Parker and Matt StoneSouth Park is one of the most controversial shows of all time. The long-running Comedy Central series has ruffled feathers among Hollywood heavyweights, politicians and even religious figures. To its credit, the series is relatively equal-opportunity with its insults, offending Muslims and Christians, Democrats and Republicans, Mac and PC users alike (to name a few from a very long list).
While the tragedy that befell Trayvon Martin is certainly nothing to joke about, Zimmerman himself has become the target of many jokes from comedians and late night talk show hosts. The neighborhood watch vigilante was taken into custody again recently for an altercation at the home of his estranged wife involving a gun, but was released shortly after.
South Park's "World War Zimmerman" airs Wednesday, October 9 at 10pm on Comedy Central. Check out a clip from the episode below.
