Dr. Dre's plan to release a new album had been in park for years, and now things are moving so fast, we can barely keep up with the anticipation. The LP premieres on Apple Music, this Thursday, Aug. 6 from 6-9 pm PST, reports Hip Hop DX. Beats Radio host Zane Low made the announcement on Twitter today.

Dre dropped the Compton album bomb during an interview on Beats 1 radio over the weekend. The Doc revealed that he scrapped Detox because he didn’t feel it was good enough, and after more than 15 years of waiting for another LP, Compton couldn’t be more timely.

The album is slated for release Friday, August 7.
