Doechii Jokes About Clip of Her Yelling At Met Gala Team
Following the fashion event on Monday, May 5, clips surfaced of the Grammy winner being overwhelmed while trying to conceal her Louis Vuitton-designed outfit. One video showed Doechii shouting repeatedly for an umbrella to cover the top of the box-styled container she stood in.
But days after unveiling her 1970s glam look on the blue carpet, on Wednesday, May 7, Doechii reacted to the negative commentary in a TikTok.
“God forbid a girl needs more umbrellas,” Doechii wrote over a clip of herself throwing up in hands in defense.
“All jokes aside this was such an overstimulating night but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! This was the night we all dreamed of and my team killed it (umbrellas aside) 😭🥴” the caption read.
The rapper followed the TikTok with a statement in her Instagram Story expressing how grateful she was about how the evening went, also thanking her beauty and fashion crew.
“We've been dreaming about this Met for a long time and the theme this year is in such alignment with who I am [and] what I stand for,” she wrote.
“It's nothing but God that this year was our debut," her statement continued. "Everyone killed it. We nailed the theme. and a time was had ☂️.”
