Wiz Khalifa's full body suit of ink includes so many tattoos that even he's lost count, but he has no plans on slowing down. "I'm still getting them," he told SBTV. "I just got six the other day."
The "Ink My Whole Body" rapper flashed back to when it all began with a tat on his right arm: "When I got my first tattoo, I was 16. My mom actually took me to go get it. She asked me if I wanted one and I said yes."
Now, seven years later, the virgin ink job blends into a collage of different images and writing that spans over his arms, torso, back and legs. There's the huge shark on his back, which he considers "the most painful one," and smaller affirmations like the "superstar" lettering that's spelled out across his knuckles or the script on the side of his hand that reads "Self Made," which is "based on my career and who I am as a person," he said.
The most meaningful tattoo for this enthusiast is a popular Martin Luther King Jr. quote that spans across his stomach: "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." "I got it when I was young and it kind of just started to make more sense as life went on," he recalled. "It signifies what I really believe in as a person, as a man and what I wish I could preach to everyone else. That's why I got it."
Only one place remains off limits, for the most part: his face. While he has small tattoos on his eyebrows that shout out his Taylor Gang crew, the rapper won't be following in the footsteps of rappers like Lil’ Wayne or Gucci Mane. "I would not get a tattoo anywhere that's going to make me look different—under my eyes or on my cheeks or face, right in the middle of my forehead. Anywhere else is fair game."
There's a price to pay for having countless tattoos: One job took six hours and a couple thousand dollars to execute, "and it sucked, too, because it really, really hurt," he admitted. Still, the rapper says it's all worth it:  "I have no tattoos that I regret; I love them all."
