J. Cole's 'Cole Summer' Lyrics Actually Did Offend Tamera Mowry After All

But for a pretty hilarious reason.

Unless there’s more fire albums or singles dropping from the Dreamville studio, it’s not every day that you find the name of the label’s top seed, J. Cole, swirling in talk show circles.

On Friday’s (March 17) episode of The Real however, it wasn’t only a single from Cole that made its way to the conversation, but one of the most spotlighted lyrics to ever make headlines as well.

Remember that time when J. Cole name-dropped twin starlets Tia and Tamera Mowry in his 2013 mixtape single “Cole Summer?” Sure you do. It went a little something like, “If I had one wish, I would f**k Tia and Tamera, at the same time and put name tags on their t***ies so I don’t get their name wrong/ screaming ‘Game on!’”

For obvious reasons, such lewd lyricism might have rubbed the ladies the wrong way. Tamera, who so happens to also be one of the show’s five co-hosts, admitted that the line did — just not in the way most expected it to. Recalling that Cole apologized when he saw her in person, assuring that he meant no malice by the line, Tamera said she still “felt some kind of way.” But when the other ladies questioned her thoughts on the lyric, what struck the Sister, Sister actress more was actually his failure to distinguish her from her sister — obviously.

“No, Jeannie, I’m more offended that he couldn’t tell us apart,” she jokingly said of Cole’s reference to her and Tia. “I have a mole, J. Cole — right there!”

Four years and a few tweets later, it’s refreshing to see that the lyric is still being taken with a light heart from the sisters.

You’re still not off the hook from that momma pinch though, Cole.
