Faith Evans Wants Biggie's Case File Reopened

Hopes LAPD will resume investigation into rapper's death.

Faith Evans isn't ready to close the book on her late husband's death, and she hopes the LAPD feels the same way.

The singer and former wife of Notorious B.I.G. recently sat down with HuffPost Live and expressed her desire for there to be more attention placed on the unsolved case.

When asked about the reopening of Biggie’s murder file, she said, “All we can do is hope that that happens.” She continued, “we’re just happy that we’re here to preserve his legacy and [make sure] his kids are happy and they’re living great lives.”

In fact, she says the case may not be as big a mystery as many believe. “We know he was murdered, but we believe that the LAPD knows who’s responsible," she said. "That’s what we believe.”

As far as what not to believe, Faith added that the famous East vs. West Coast beef at the time played a much smaller role than many have imagined. “The only way you can look at it [Big's death] is tragic. Tragic and senseless,” she said. “But I don’t think that situation was the result of being in the music business. It’s a little deeper than that. I think all the things that came with it definitely added to the hype of things. The whole media element, and people being able to say what they think and not be accurate.”

Last year, Faith announced that she's working on a duets album with Biggie's vocals called The King And I.
