Kanye West and Drake, who are a part of Virgil Abloh’s close inner circle, joined his family and friends in Chicago to honor the late designer at a private funeral procession.
On Monday (Dec. 6), the entertainers joined Kim Kardashian, Tyler, the Creator, Frank Ocean, Kid Cudi, Rihanna and others at the Museum Of Contemporary Art, where the service was reportedly held, Complex reports.
Chicago activist Englewood Barbie shared photos of the event. Abloh’s sister, Edwina Abloh, and Tyler, the Creator, shared heartfelt tributes about the creative and artistic genius.
“Virgil inspired multitudes to never relent and to be the best versions of [themselves],” Edwina shared. “My brother was endearing and humble yet daring and courageous.”
Adding, “Virgil did not believe in the word impossible.”
Virgil Abloh died on Nov. 28 after privately battling a rare form of cancer for the last two years.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon Abloh, their children Loew Abloh and Grey Abloh, his sister Edwina Abloh, and his parents Nee and Eunice Abloh.
