Meek Mill Gets Into Hot Water After Fans React To New Track With Lyrics About Kobe Bryant

The rapper’s latest project is stirring some controversy.

Meek Mill is receiving backlash for lyrics that appeared to reference Kobe Bryant. The Philly rapper is now addressing the controversy. 

Lyrics to Mill's unreleased song, reportedly titled “Don’t Worry (RIP Kobe),” leaked. According to E! Online, the lyrics read, "This bitch I'm f—kin' always tell me that she love but she ain't ever showed me. Yeah, and if I ever lack, I'm goin' out with my chopper, it by another Kobe."

Some people interpreted the lyrics to be a reference to Kobe and his 14-year-old daughter dying in a January 2020 helicopter crash.

Meek responded to the backlash by tweeting on Feb. 18, “Somebody promo a narrative and y’all follow it.... y’all internet antics cannot stop me  ....shit like zombie land or something!  Lol”
