Nappy Roots’ Fish Scales Kidnapped, Robbed And Shot At Own Brewery

He attempted to escape but was shot in the leg by one of his kidnappers.

Fish Scales of the legendary Hip Hop group Nappy Roots was reportedly kidnapped, robbed at gunpoint and shot at his Atlanta brewery on Wednesday night (August 17).

Born Melvin Adams Jr., he was leaving the Nappy Roots-owned Atlantucky Brewery at 11 p.m. when two men approached him and robbed him. According to the New York Post, the assailants forced Scales to drive to his Hapeville home prior to his attempt at escaping the alleged assailants and was shot in the leg.

Subsequently, the kidnappers fled while Scales went to a neighbor’s house for help. Police later arrived and he was taken to the hospital.

Since the incident, Nappy Roots’ official Instagram posted a picture of Scales in a hospital bed, adding “he is looking forward to getting back to work both on music and brewery.”

The brewery remains closed but is scheduled to reopen on Friday (August 19).

Police say the are still investigating the incident, reports The Post.
