That’s Dr. Katt To You! Katt Williams Earns Honorary Doctorate From Miles College
Comedian Katt Williams has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Miles College. The celebratory collegiate news surfaced on an Instagram post by fellow funny man, Mark Curry, who wrote: “Congratulations to my brother Cat getting a doctrine. You deserve it. You are incredible FRIEND Thanks for all the encouragement, keeping me in the game.”
Not only did Curry spell his friend’s name wrong, he also used “doctrine” for “doctorate.” That’s neither here nor there. What’s special about this shoutout is Curry sharing that Williams’ encouragement has kept him in the game of comedy/entertainment.
Miles College confirmed the doctorate honor, listing Williams among those recognized for leadership and service. According to more posts on social media, Williams received a Doctorate in Humane Letters during Miles College’s Top 50 Alumni Awards event.
During that infamous “Club Shay Shay” interview heard ‘round the world, Williams revealed that he had a high IQ, was reading by the age of 3 and got accepted into college at the age of 7. He also shared that he read 3,000 nonfiction books a year in "multiple languages" between the ages of 8 and 12. Fans have long referred to Williams as a genius, especially when it comes to his wordplay, cultural commentary, and his comedic voice that has always reflected his deep social observations.
Williams’ doctorate adds a valid decoration to the comedic genius’ intellectual claims. Congratulations Dr. Katt!
