The Kilpatrick Detention Center in Los Angeles is notorious for housing criminal youth, many of which have dealt in gangs and drugs. Tired of the hopelessness and looking to help the teens with potential, the center's counselor Sean Porter (Dwayne Johnson) decides to organize a football team with himself as the coach. Despite their initial success, the team and the coach soon realize that the team's sordid past can still catch up with them, even when they have been removed from the turmoil.
