Foxy Brown Switches Lawyer Before Court Appearance | Music News

Rapper Foxy Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, appeared in Brooklyn criminal court yesterday (July 27) after pleading not guilty last week to charges of public lewdness, harassment and criminal contempt for violating an order of protection that her neighbor, Arlene Raymond, had taken against her. But just as drama seems to follow Foxy, the New York Post announced that she had been dropped by her attorney just a couple days before the hearing.

Despite the reports, Foxy's new manager Bernadette Brennan told allhiphop.com that the rapper had not been dropped but had decided to go with a more "high-powered attorney." Her new lawyer is Salvatore Strazzullo.

Strazzullo told the judge that Foxy was innocent. "When it comes down to it, what a tremendous waste of the city's money this order of protection is," he said.

This isn't the first time that Foxy has parted ways with an attorney. Back in 2008, the lawyer who represented her in Miami angrily withdrew from her case.
