SMH: Fans Blasted This Rapper For Joyriding Around Vegas With A Machine Gun

Fans accused the rapper of being insensitive following the deadly shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in 2017.

Post Malone is facing more backlash after posting a video on social media that many people raising their eyebrows. The controversial rapper reportedly filmed himself joyriding in Vegas on a Humvee – a military vehicle equipped with a machine gun – and the video didn’t exactly go over well on Twitter.

In the video, the “Rockstar” artist is seen riding on top of a Humvee. “It’s how you do Vegas, my boy,” the rapper said before pointing the camera down at the machine gun.

Upon viewing the clip, fans blasted the rapper on Twitter, suggesting he was being insensitive to gun violence and other current events. More specifically, many fans thought it was ill-timed considering a deadly shooting took place just a few months ago in Oct. 2017 at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Fifty-nine people died and hundreds more were injured as a result of a lone gunman opening fire on the festival with a number of hand and machine guns.

Following initial backlash, however, Post Malone released a statement explaining the circumstances. “The gun isn’t real y’all. I was at Battlefield Vegas and they gave me a ride back in the Humvee,” he explained. “It really has nothing to do with anything. Just was having fun. Never thought anyone would assume that I was being disrespectful."
