Lil Nas X Trolled Drake Fans With This Debut Album Artwork, And The Internet Is Dying Laughing
Since galloping into the music industry faster than a Camaro, country rap sensationĀ Lil Nas X has been riding high as his smash hit song "Old Town Road" continues to dominate the Billboard 100. While he has been busy stacking collabs and performances, the 20-year-old industry newbie hasn't let fame deter his social media game.Ā
After teasing fans with new music for over a month, the Georgia native updated them on Tuesday (May 28) saying that his debut album might be dropping as soon as June.Ā
Ā
Two hours later, the 20-year-old followed up with some rather familiar artwork for his pending album, depicted as an obvious play off ofĀ Drake's 2013 album,Ā Nothing Was the Same.Ā It wasn't long before Drizzy fans hopped in his mentions calling him a "copycat," noting the similarities between the background, pose and name for the album.
Lil Nas X told fans last month that his planned album is going to be titled 7 when he started dropping short clips for potential tracks like "Panini" that he was working on.

Lil Nas X spurred the flames despite the backlash and kept toying with Drizzy fans who couldn't seem to grasp the joke.
"Old Town Road" fans and other Twitter meme accounts joined in the trolling, spawning more memes and jokes, too. The OVO Sound boss, who's been heavily occupied with the 2019 NBA playoffs and early summer vacations, hasn't yet commented on the matter, though.ĀThus, the Atlanta rapper got the last laugh out of playing Drake's fan like a fiddle while generating even more interest in the new album.
