Social Media Reacts To Verzuz Partnership With Elon Musk

Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s multimedia platform has secured a distribution partnership with Elon Musk’s X.

Verzuz, the webcast series launched during the pandemic by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, scored a distribution deal with Elon Musk’s X (formerly known as Twitter), and the internet is not too happy about it. The producers shared the news during the Cannes Lions conference in France on Wednesday, the day of Juneteenth.

A post on the multimedia platform's Instagram account shows a picture of Swizz Beatz and Timbaland alongside Musk, with cocktails in their hands. "LIFE BEGINS AT THE END OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE!!!" the caption reads. "IT’S OFFICIAL, #VERZUZ IS BACK AND 100% BLACK OWNED AGAIN. LET’S GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT’S BEEN MISSING !!! WE WILL ALSO BE BUILDING NEW ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESSES ON THE X PLATFORM !! WHO SHOULD BE THE [FIRST] KICK OFF SHOW? LETS GO!!! VERZUZ ON X... NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS OR YOUR COMPANY. Happy Juneteenth."

Swizz Beats and Timbaland are facing backlash for going into business with the Tesla Motors CEO, despite speculations of his racist apartheid upbringing and recent engagement in racially discriminative business practices. Take a look at some social media reactions below:
