FBI Seeks Help Identifying Suspects in Offset Casino Shooting
Offset’s Florida casino shooting case is now drawing federal attention, and investigators want the public’s help identifying the people involved.
According to reporting from CBS12, FBI Miami said the April 6 incident happened outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, where a “large group” assaulted a lone victim, and one suspect fired a single shot that struck Offset, whose legal name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus. The suspects allegedly tried to take his watch but did not get away with it.
The FBI said the group fled in two SUVs, described as a matte gray Chevrolet Tahoe and a black Chevrolet Suburban, and investigators believe one vehicle headed toward Hollywood while the other went south toward Miami. Federal authorities have released images tied to the case and are asking anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip online.
Offset was hospitalized after the shooting, but reports said his injuries were non-life-threatening and that he was later “up and walking” as he recovered. CBS12 also reported that Lil Tjay was arrested nearby in the hours after the shooting, though he was not charged in connection with the case; authorities have not announced any arrests or charges tied directly to the Offset shooting itself.
The case is an open investigation with the FBI, Seminole Police Department, and the FBI’s South Florida Violent Crime and Fugitive Task Force all involved. Because the shooting happened on tribal land, the investigation falls under federal jurisdiction, which helps explain why the bureau is now publicly circulating images and asking the public to help identify suspects.
