Gizelle Bryant Says Karen Huger ‘Ain’t Cut Out for Jail’

The ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star said she’s “shook” to learn of Huger’s 1-year sentence for drunk driving.

A notable star from “Real Housewives of Potomac” has lent support to Karen Huger after her sentencing this week.

On Wednesday, February 26, Huger, 61, was sentenced to two years in prison with the suspension of one year after being convicted in a drunk driving case. Additionally, Huger will have an imposed five years of probation.

As Huger was given 30 days to appeal the decision and a 90-day term to request a reconsideration, speaking out in support was fellow “RHOP” star Gizelle Bryant.

“I am shook,” Bryant said during her 21 Shady Questions Live event on Wednesday, per “UsWeekly.” “This just happened today. I do not have her wigs. I am concerned. In all seriousness, I am concerned for her safety. Karen ain’t cut out for jail.”

She continued, “I pray that she’s OK and that the Lord is with her.”

Huger was sentenced in connection with a March 2024 incident in which she smashed her car into a street sign roughly three miles from her residence. Huger was visibly drunk, stumbling and slurring her words, according to bodycam footage from the encounter. During the arrest, she also referenced “RHOP” executive producer and host Andy Cohen and revealed that she had drunk “a couple beers.”

Encouraged to evaluate her usage of alcohol and medications, Huger enrolled in a private treatment program in Florida in January, missing the recording of the "RHOP" season nine reunion.
