Keke Palmer Opens Up About Her Nickelodeon Cruise Gig That Made Her Feel ‘Trapped’

The actress starred in the popular ‘True Jackson, VP series’.

Keke Palmer is opening up about how she felt “trapped” as a child during a gig she booked on the now-defunct Nickelodeon cruise line and told The Hollywood Reporter how she was under the impression she would have a fun, carefree opportunity to spend with her family despite dedicating a few hours to signing autographs.

“I felt like I was walking around in a SpongeBob suit that I couldn’t take off,” she explained.

“I was trapped. I couldn’t leave my room without someone coming up to me and calling me ‘True Jackson.’ What you are, to everyone, is just a character … just part of their experience.

She also recounts an experience with her boyfriend and his father a couple of weeks back in Arizona where someone questioned why she was in attendance at a Dave & Buster’s after attending an Eagles game.

“A couple of weeks ago, I was in Arizona with my boyfriend and his dad for an Eagles game,” she began.

“We ended up at a Dave & Buster’s, and somebody was like, ‘What are you doing here?’ Same reason as you, dude! Playing games and winning tickets. Where else do you expect me to do that?”

Nobody will question the Nope actress on December 3rd as she’s tapped to host Saturday Night Live! with SZA as the musical guest.

The actress is excited, taking to her Instagram to share how she “can’t wait” and is ready to hit center stage.
