Suge Knight Makes Bold Accusation Against Dr. Dre: "He Tried To Kill Me"

Yet, sources are reporting there might be more to the story.

Former Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight and those associated with him have been on one these few days. Just yesterday, his son made headlines alluding that hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur is very much alive... with the evidence to prove it.

As a precursor to his sentencing, the convicted music exec had a phone interview with The Blast. During the interview, Knight discussed his plea deal, forthcoming prison stretch and founding N.W.A. member Dr. Dre using personal checks to hire a hit man to murder him.

  • Knight alleged that police have a paper trail when Dre approached two men inquiring about how to "get rid of him."

Recalling the witness statements previously told to him, "How much does it cost to get rid of him? What do you mean get rid of him?  To kill him," Knight explained. He also mentioned the men discussed prices about the hit. In defense of his actions, Suge stated that he hit Cle Sloan and Terry Carter in an attempt to escape Dre.

However, according to reports from The Guardian and anonymous sources, Knight claimed Dre owed him 30 percent of profits from his Beats By Dre-Apple deal. So he wasn't allowed on the set of Straight Outta Compton due to a restraining order Dr. Dre had against him. Knight and Sloan, who worked as site security, got into a verbal altercation. Knight called Carter, as a friend, to smooth things over, but things escalated far too quickly.

    Carter's injuries were fatal.

  • Knight was sentenced today (Oct. 4) to 28 years in prison for killing Carter amid that 2015 argument.

He claims that he had to accept the plea deal because his lawyer "did not know enough about the case." Seeing him only twice in an eight-month span, Knight's lawyer requested the help of other attorneys. "They told him no. So if somebody stacks the deck against you, to the point where they’re not trying to fight for you, and let you get the attorneys you wish to have, what can you do?”
