Pharrell Williams is the new men’s creative director for Louis Vuitton! The luxury brand announced the news via Instagram on Tuesday (Feb. 14).
“Louis Vuitton is delighted to welcome Pharrell Williams as its new Men’s Creative Director. His first collection for Louis Vuitton will be revealed next June during Men's Fashion Week in Paris,” read the social media post that showed the music mogul wrapped in an oversized scarf from the brand.
The announcement continued, “Pharrell Williams is a visionary whose creative universes expand from music to art, and to fashion – establishing himself as a cultural global icon over the past twenty years. The way in which he breaks boundaries across the various worlds he explores, aligns with Louis Vuitton’s status as a Cultural Maison, reinforcing its values of innovation, pioneer spirit, and entrepreneurship.”
ICYMI: Pharrell partnered with LV in both 2004 and 2008.
“I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home,” Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton’s Chairman and CEO, said of the news. “His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter.”
FYI: The role was previously held by Virgil Abloh, who sadly passed away in November 2021 after a lengthy battle with a rare cancer. The fashion trailblazer and founder of Off-White became the first Black artistic director of the European luxury house in 2018.
