David Oyelowo Drove His Family Crazy With His Will Smith Karaoke

He "gets jiggy" in his new movie.

David Oyelowo is currently starring in the soon-to-be-released action/drama film Gringo, which saw the usually suave actor let loose with the help of Will Smith's hit "Gettin' Jiggy Wit It."

We recently spoke with the actor about how he prepared to deliver the hilarious sing-along scene and what his real-life go-to karaoke song of choice is.

Speaking on the preparation process, Oyelowo revealed that he drove his family nuts trying to perfect the words, since it had been so long since he had heard the 1997 hit.

"Even though I love that song and remember it, I did not know the words to it so I would literally — my poor family, they were subjected to two to three days of that thing just on a loop, so I had to learn the whole song," he said.

After co-star Charlize Theron admitted to being "terrible" at karaoke, herself, Oyelowo revealed that he kills any James Brown song behind the mic.

When asked for a sample, though, he hilariously followed up with, "Absolutely not."

Watch the two speak on their karaoke skills a bit more in-depth in the video, above.

Gringo premieres in theaters, nationwide, on March 9.
