Twitter Reacts To ‘Zola’ Movie Trailer Based Off Viral Twitter Thread

The film hits theaters on June 30.

The official trailer for Zola has been released by A24, and it has Twitter buzzing.

Releasing in theaters on June 30, the film is based off the infamous Twitter thread posted by A’Ziah Wells King and follows a Detroit waitress named Zola (Taylour Paige) who strikes up a new friendship with a customer Stefani (Riley Keough). Stefani subsequently convinces her to join a weekend of dancing and partying in Florida.

The trip ends up rapidly transforming into a two-day long journey involving an idiot boyfriend, Tampa gangsters, an unnamed pimp and more.

Variety reports that in addition to Paige and Keough, Zola will feature acting from Nelcie Souffrant, Nasir Rahim, Amelia Rose Monteagudo, Ari’el Stachel, Colman Domingo, Nick Braun, Jason Mitchell, TS Madison and Tommy Foxhill.
