Keke Wyatt’s Wedding Gig Ignites Backlash Amid Son’s Claims

The R&B diva’s son first called his mom homophobic after he claimed she called his cancer ‘karma’ for being gay, then the singer was seen performing at a lesbian wedding.

Fans are calling out R&B diva Keke Wyatt after video and social posts surfaced showing her performing at a lesbian couple’s wedding. This backlash comes on the heels of a very public rift with her son, Rahjah Ke’ Morton, who recently accused Wyatt of making homophobic remarks.

The controversy started in September, after the 23-year-old Morton posted a trendy “put a finger down” video on TikTok claiming that behind closed doors, his mother had called his cancer diagnosis at 13 “karma” for being gay. He also shared that she might have withheld money from him had she known his sexuality. These unsavory words sparked major chatter on social platforms about Wyatt’s alleged homophobia.

Shortly after Morton’s video made its rounds, clips of Wyatt performing at the wedding had many fans pointing to an apparent contradiction between her beliefs and her actions. Commenters criticized the perceived hypocrisy and demanded accountability, with some calling for an explanation from the singer.

Wyatt responded to critics last month about her son’s claims against her by saying she’s not homophobic. She shared that she loves her children and “there is not a homophobic bone in my body.” She then asked for privacy as her family worked through the matter.

However, this private family spat became public when fans spotted Wyatt at her latest gig. Some fans are understanding of Wyatt taking the lesbian wedding singing gig and said, “Mama still gotta pay the bills. And I’m sure the check cleared.”

Another supporter said, “That check had no sexual orientation.” While critics slammed the singer, “LMAOOOO it’s amazing to see. Have “morals” when it comes to your kids but them same “ morals” disappear when it’s time to get paid. Ironic.”
