Chris Brown’s $16M Assault Lawsuit Dropped in London Bottle Incident
The lawsuit that nearly delayed Chris Brown’s Breezy Bowl tour has officially been dropped.
In February 2023, music producer Amadou “Abe” Diaw accused Brown of hitting him in the head with a tequila bottle during a confrontation at a London nightclub. The alleged assault left Diaw hospitalized and led to a $16 million lawsuit. According to Billboard, Diaw recently filed to dismiss the suit with prejudice, which means it cannot be brought back to court. It’s unclear whether a settlement was reached between the two parties, and neither side has publicly commented on the filing.
Despite the dismissal, Brown is still facing criminal charges tied to the same incident. In May 2025, just days before the Breezy Bowl tour was set to kick off in Manchester, the singer was arrested at a hotel and charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon. He was held for several days before being released on $6.7 million bail.
The arrest came dangerously close to postponing the tour, but Brown was released just in time to perform. The criminal case remains active as the Breezy Bowl continues moving through Europe.
