Horrific Discovery As Abducted 13-Year-Old Girl's Body Is Found In Abandoned Home

Police suspect Shavon Randle's murder was the result of retaliation for drug theft.

A 13-year-old girl from North Texas, who had been missing and reported abducted last week, was found dead inside an abandoned Dallas house.

Authorities believe Shavon Randle was the victim of a ransom scheme stemming from a drug theft. She had been missing for four days and was identified as one of the two people discovered dead in the Oak Cliff-area of Dallas.

Eric Jackson, special agent of the Dallas FBI, said the second body discovered inside the home was a 19-year-old named Michael Titus, who had been named one of four persons of interest from the abduction last week.

“We didn't have the positive result we were looking for, but being able to let Shavon's family know that we've located her was our goal,” Jackson said. “We're going to continue our investigation and anyone we find that were involved in this heinous crime against Shavon, we will bring you to justice and we will hold you accountable.”

Randle was reported kidnapped on Wednesday (June 28) from her home in nearby Lancaster, Texas. An Amber Alert was then issued by police. Subsequently, Ledoris Randle, a relative of the then-missing girl, said she received a call from an unknown man who claimed Shavon was being held against her will and had threatened to harm her.

Lancaster police and FBI agents arrested two men on Saturday. 24-year-old Devontae Owens and 30-year-old Laquon Wilkerson were taken into custody and charged with aggravated kidnapping.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in order to help Randle’s family pay for her funeral expenses. You can donate here.
