Diana Ross’ Comments About Michael Jackson After ‘Leaving Neverland’ Spark Backlash On Social Media

See what the legendary singer had to say about MJ.

Ever since Leaving Neverland aired on television, fans and admirers of Michael Jackson have had choice to make about how to deal with the King of Pop’s legacy. Understandably, this has caused a lot of debate online, and now new comments by Diana Ross are reigniting the social media wars over this hot topic.

  • Ross took to Twitter this afternoon (March 23) and let everyone know what she really feels about MJ and his legacy.

“This is what’s on my heart this morning,” she tweeted. “I believe and trust that Michael Jackson was and is A magnificent incredible force to me and to many others. STOP IN THE NAME OF LOVE.”

  • As you’d expect, this stance on Jackson angered many.

  • Leaving Neverland initially aired in late January and highlights the stories of Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who claim Michael Jackson molested them when they were children. Jackson has been accused of having inappropriate relationships with young boys for decades, even before he passed away in 2009.

Additionally, Barbara Streisand also shared some controversial views on Jackson — appearing to blame his alleged victims:

“His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has,” she told the Times UK. “You can say ‘molested,’ but those children, as you heard them say [the grown-up Robson and Safechuk], they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them.”

Ms. Ross and Streisand certainly have a right to their opinions, but clearly they are not sitting right with many online.
