Ed Sheeran Spills the Beans on The Weeknd's New Album
Ever wonder how some artists become friends?
More specifically, Ed Sheeran and all of his hip hop cosigners? Well here’s a tip, he turns up with the best of them. Recently, while visiting Zane Lowe’s radio show on Beats 1, Ed shared a funny story about the time he ended up at The Weeknd’s place for a party in Toronto.
As he tells it, he’s sort of a big partyer. After too many drinks, he bumped into the "Earned It" crooner who invited him back to his place to write some music — and that's not even the juicy part.
Ed recalls he was freaking out mentally about the writing session. “In my head I’m like, ‘The Weeknd doesn’t want to write a song! The Weeknd doesn’t want to work with anyone. He’s got one feature on his album, which is Kanye West. He doesn’t want to do that.'”
And just like that, the cat is out of the bag. There is a Yeezy collaboration on the much-anticipated project. But with news that big, it wouldn’t have been a secret for too long. With possibly two cool features from 'Ye and Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd’s album is shaping up to be even better than we expected.
