The new season of The Bachelorette is officially under way and with the show welcoming its first ever Black leading lady, many were curious to see how the contestants would fair.

Of course, things got racial from the get go as one of her suitors, a white male, made his grand introduction by reassuring her that he's "ready to go Black."

After exchanging a few pleasantries with new contestant Dean, Rachel Lindsay, the first Black Bachelorette, was hit with arguably the most odd "Nice to meet you" in the show's history.

"I just want to let you know I'm ready to go Black," Dean said. "And I'm never going to go back."

That super awkward line seemed to spark a positive reaction from the crowd as everyone erupted in applause and Rachel responded, smiling, with, "I love that."
