Watch: Ray Rice Pleads Florida State Football Team to Learn From His Mistakes

Powerful words from the former NFL running back.

Ray Rice may never get another chance to play in the National Football League again.

But the former NFL running back could take some solace in possibly helping younger football players to learn from his mistakes — and avoid ever going down a similar path.

Just over two and a half years since he punched his then-fiancée, now-wife, Janay Rice in a New Jersey hotel casino elevator, Rice pleaded with the Florida State University football team to learn from his life lessons.

In this footage from Showtime Sports's A Season With Florida State Football, the 29-year-old passionately states, "I'm not playing football right now, not because I'm not good enough, [but] because I made the worst decision of my life, so you guys gotta understand ... it all came down to decision making."

Watch part of his powerful speech here.

Although Rice won his appeal and was reinstated by the league in November 2014, he hasn't received that elusive second shot.

He has kept himself in good shape, his marriage to Janay is going strong and the couple announced in May that they're expecting their second child.

Still, there hasn't been a single NFL franchise willing to give Rice a chance.

In July, Rice desperately upped the ante, vowing to donate his full season's salary to domestic violence prevention, victims and families if given an opportunity to play in the league this fall.

Hearing and seeing how Rice's terrible act still haunts him today should go a long way in keeping younger players from ever committing such an egregious error.

Do you think Ray Rice will ever play in the NFL again?
