Desiigner Says ‘Mental Health is Real,’ Checks Into Facility After Exposing Himself on Flight
Rapper Desiigner is taking time out to focus on his mental health. The “Panda” emcee told fans via his Instagram Stories that he would be stepping away from his career after he allegedly exposed himself during a recent flight.
In his post, the Brooklyn native, born Sidney Royel Selby III, shared, "For the past few months i have not been ok, and i have been struggling to come to terms with what is going on. While overseas for a concert i performed at, i had to be admitted in to a hospital, i was not thinking clearly."
The 25-year-old stated that he was given medication but had to leave for his flight back to the states. According to an unidentified source who spoke to TMZ over the weekend, the “Timmy Turner” rapper was on an international flight that made stops in Thailand and Tokyo. At some point during the trip, Desiigner exposed himself and was scolded by a flight attendant.

After arriving in Minneapolis on Monday, April 17, the entertainer was detained by authorities, questioned, and ultimately released. It’s believed that the emcee may have had an adverse reaction to the medication, which may be the source of his questionable behavior.
Desiigner admitted, “I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane” and is now home, where he is “admitting my self in a facility to help me.” He also noted that he “will be cancelling all shows and any obligations until further notice.”
The former GOOD Music signee concluded his message by asking fans for their prayers, noting that “Mental health is real, guys.” He added, “If your [sic] not feeling like yourself please get help."
The rapper received much support on social media, with many critics applauding him for his transparency, and for taking full accountability for his actions.”
