#RIP: Hip-Hop Bids Farewell To Bad Boy Records' Craig Mack
Another hip-hop legend Craig Mack earned his wings on Monday (March 12) after the 46-year-old passed away from reportedly natural causes.
Righteously idolized for his 1994 summer-smashing, Grammy-nominated “Flava In Ya Ear” hit, Mack rose to rap prominence and placed Diddy’s Bad Boy Records empire on the map with just one track. The record accelerated the careers of Busta Rhymes and Mack’s future label mate Notorious B.I.G. after the two Brooklyn heavyweights appeared on the “Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)” as well. Fellow Brooklyn-natives LL Cool J and Rampage also penned bars across the remix. As the first artist signed under Bad Boy, Mack’s legacy is forever imprinted with rap pioneership for one of hip-hop’s most timeless and dynamic tracks and monumental record labels in history.
For that, hip-hop thanks, commemorates and remembers Craig Mack in his 46 years of life.
