Black Twitter Went All The Way In On This 'Whitewashed' Replica Of Queen Nefertiti Presented On The Today Show
"Queen Nefertiti looking like Becky instead of Black Brazen Beauty."
Anyone familiar with ancient Egyptian history knows Queen Nefertiti, the mother of King Tut, was an African royal; however, a bust was presented on The Today Show as the closest replica of the queen's face, and it was anything but African.
Expedition Unknown's Josh Gates appeared on the show Tuesday to reveal a reconstruction of what Nefertiti would have looked like when she was alive. The team who recreated the bust reportedly used preserved remains and new technology to artistically build the piece.
On the show, Gates presented Today's Hota Kotb and Savannah Guthrie with the very Caucasian model
An image of the bust was also shared from Gates' personal twitter
Needless to say, the lack of melanin and African features did not go over well with Black Twitter
