Oklahoma State Guard Marcus Smart Suspended for Shoving Fan

Oklahoma state guard Marcus Smart has been suspended for shoving a fan in a game Sunday night.

Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart has been suspended for shoving a fan in a game Sunday night. During the match up at Texas Tech, fan Jeff Orr called Smart "a piece of crap," that followed with the player putting his hands on him.
The Big 12 has put the sophomore on a three game suspension that will begin Tuesday when his team visits Texas in Austin. He will not be able to travel or take part in any game-day activities, but can still participate in practices.
Smart apologized to Orr and his teammates for his actions on Sunday. "I let my emotions get the best of me, just can't let that happen again," Orr said in a press conference. "It's something I have to learn from ... the consequences coming with it, I'm taking full responsibility. No fingers are pointed. This is all upon me."

Rumors spread the day after the incident that Orr yelled out a racial slur during the game. Orr denied the claims, but apologized for his actions and said he will not attend anymore Texas Tech games for the rest of the season.
"I want to make it known that I did not use a racial slur of any kind," Orr said, according to USA Today. "Additionally, I would like to offer my apologies to Texas Tech fans that have been embarrassed by the attention this incident has created."

Smart was Big 12 Conference Player of the Year in 2013 and was considered one of the top prospects in the NBA Draft 2013, but decided to continue playing for Oklahoma State this season.
