Living In the Spotlight featuring Tamar Braxton
Get To Know: Tamar Braxton
Tamar grew up in a famed household, with sister Toni well on the rise in the early 90s making R&B magic. The Braxton sisters Trina, Traci, Towanda, Toni and Tamar formed a group, The Braxtons, which allowed the young siblings to gain early spotlight. Once they signed to Arista Records, they thought only upward from there!
Making It To the Spotlight
Being the youngest, Tamar had a lot to learn, but with her sisters constantly in her corner, she was never bound to lose. Following her and her sisters being dropped from Arista, she, Trina and Towanda returned to the music scene once more in 1996 with a new album entitled So Many Ways, which peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. After their success touring and performing, The Braxtons decided to part ways as a group once Tamar (lead singer) was signed solo to DreamWorks Records in 1998.
Debut Single
In 1990, The Braxtons released their first single, "Good Life", which would end up being their only single as a group due to Arista Records dropping them soon after their single reached No. 79 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart.
