The 2023 NAACP Image Awards hosted by actress and producer Queen Latifah is officially underway. Looking dashing in a two-piece royal blue suit, Annan glided to the stage, where he graciously accepted his trophy before dedicating it to older generations of individuals that “did not have space to be themselves.” This win marked the actor’s second nomination in the major category and his first win.

The rising star beat out several equally talented actors, including Damson Idris for his role in FX’s Snowfall, Kofi Siriboe for Queen Sugar, Sterling K. Brown for This Is Us, and Hollywood newcomer Jabari Banks for Bel-Air.
