Kid Cudi Apologies To Past Girlfriends

"All of my relationships didn't work out because of me."
  • Kid Cudi humbly reflected on his personal growth and maturity on Twitter Saturday (Oct. 26) specifically apologizing to his past girlfriends. The Grammy-award winning artist identified one key element of relationships: loving yourself.

“U can’t be in love w someone until u love yourself,” he posted. “It took me years to learn that.” A more personal acknowledgment came in a tweet soon after, in which the rapper apologized to all his ex-girlfriends for his unsuccessful relationships and how he played a critical role in why they ended.

  • Cudi then went on to remind others that a light is always at the end of the tunnel, “To anyone whos still dealin w things, know that u will be ok and u will find a way to the light. I thought id never find a way out of my madness. So silly of me.”

  • He has dealt with his mental health publicly and checked into rehab in 2016 after it was revealed that he was suffering from depression and suicidal urges. He posted on his Facebook to share the news in a heartfelt message to his fans, “It’s time I fix me. Im nervous but ima get through this,” later saying “love and light to everyone who has love for me.” Cudi also opened up after going on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk.

  • “It’s like my life was this show and I was always supposed to be on, but when the show was over I was completely miserable for a long time,” he said. “I was not happy when I woke up in the morning, it started off with something as simple as that. Just being like, ‘Why don’t I feel OK?’ and not really knowing what that was.”

Cudi is set to headline and perform at ComplexCon in Long Beach on Nov. 2 -3.
