Busta Rhymes Asks Lil’ Kim to Get ‘Active’ In Music Again
Busta Rhymes wants fellow New York emcee Lil’ Kim to get back in the game.
Last Saturday, March 7, Busta hosted a release party for his new project “Dragon Season… Equinox,” where the Queen Bee was among guests at Brooklyn Chop House. Kim joined Busta on stage, where the “Touch It” rapper dedicated an impromptu speech to the Grammy winner.
“I made a decision the other night and I called Lil’ Kim phone and I told the queen, ‘I'm tired of watching you sit down and be quiet. I’m tired,” Busta said in the TikTok below. “I want alumni getting our flowers now.”
The rapper mentioned Missy Elliott and Mary J. Blige as peers who’ve gotten inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but affirmed that along with the two women, “Lil’ Kim did records with all of them.”
“Alright, Kim. We got to light the fuse, the dynamite stick gotta bust again. It’s time to bust your gun, queen,” Busta declared. “It’s time to get active again, queen. It’s time to show Brooklyn who the f**king queen of the borough is, queen.”
Busta added that he’s “leading the charge,” before inviting the audience to make some noise for Kim. “I’m gonna make sure that we hold you in the highest regard,” he concluded.
The East Coast hitmakers have linked up on a few songs in the past, like LSG’s “Curious,” which also featured LL Cool J. While there’s no news of an upcoming project, Lil’ Kim’s latest release was her fifth album, “9,” which featured City Girls, O.T. Genasis, Rick Ross, Musiq Soulchild and Rich the Kid.
