Jamie Foxx: Celebs React To Health Update

"Sending love Jamie," fellow Oscar-winner Viola Davis commented.

When Jamie Foxx released an Instagram video update Saturday (July 22) about his health, fans and celebrities alike hit the internet streets to express their love.

"Awww Man," Will Smith commented PEOPLE writes. "Who’s cuttin’ onions?? Love U Foxx!! Your Light Is Needed ‘n Appreciated Right Now!"

LL Cool J added, "so glad to see you back my brother 💪🏾✊🏾👑."

Since Foxx posted the video, it has garnered nearly 2 million likes and loving comments from many of Foxx's famous friends, according to PEOPLE.

"God is GOOD!!!!!!!! Sending love Jamie❤️❤️❤️," fellow Oscar-winner Viola Davis wrote.

"I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back," he said of his fans' support after he suffered a still unnamed medical emergency in April. "I went through something I thought I would never ever go through."

"Love you, Foxx!!! 🙌🏻," Justin Timberlake wrote.  Michael B. Jordan expressed a similar sentiment: "I love you brother!!"

In his message, Foxx acknowledged that "a lot of people" were "waiting" for updates about his condition, but "to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me like that."

He also thanked his younger sister Deidra Dixon and daughter Corinne, 29, for their “protection” during his recovery, adding that they "saved my life." He also thanked God and the "great medical people" that treated him.

Of course the comedian had to make a joke, “Now, you know, by being quiet sometimes things get out of hand. People saying what I got, some people said I was blind, but as you can see ... the eyes are working just fine.” He crossed and uncrossed them in a way reminiscent of his “Wanda” character from In Living Color. He added, “ Said I'm paralyzed — I'm not paralyzed."

“But I did go through... I went to hell and back," said Foxx. "And my road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I'm coming back. And I'm able to work."

Foxx's most recent film, They Cloned Tyrone, is streaming now on Netflix.
