Russell Westbrook Makes History as First NBA Player to Style a WNBA Draft Pick
Russell Westbrook just broke another barrier, becoming the first NBA player ever to style a WNBA Draft prospect. Kentucky's Georgia Amoore stunned on the orange carpet Monday night in a custom fit from Westbrook's clothing brand Honor The Gift.
"This has never happened before—no athlete has ever dressed another athlete for a draft, let alone an NBA player designing for a WNBA Draft," Westbrook told Vogue. "We're making history right here, breaking down those barriers between men's and women's sports."
Amoore's outfit featured a cropped blazer and skirt with "Honor Tailoring Custom Alterations" on the back, plus a shirt with the powerful message "Honor Women"—perfectly fitting for draft night.
"It's surreal that Russell and Honor The Gift wanted to not only style me but make history with me," Amoore shared. "I love what we collaboratively put together and could not think of a better way to begin my journey as a WNBA player."
The collaboration began with a Zoom call last November, with Amoore admitting to "freaking out" before meeting Westbrook, who she'd been a fan of growing up in Australia.
The 5-foot-6 guard was selected sixth overall by the Washington Mystics. She finished her college career at Kentucky after transferring from Virginia Tech, where she had led the Hokies to their first Final Four appearance in 2023.
To commemorate the historic styling moment, Honor The Gift released a limited-edition t-shirt with proceeds benefiting the organization "Play Like a Girl," further showcasing Westbrook's commitment to women's sports.
