Jam Master Jay Convicted Murderer Reportedly Stabbed In Brooklyn Jail
One of two men convicted of killing Run-D.M.C. member Jam Master Jay was brutally attacked behind bars last weekend
Karl “Little D” Jordan, who was found guilty on murder charges last February for his involvement in Jay’s 2002 murder, was reportedly stabbed in a fight at Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, per NBC New York. Jordan is currently being held in MDC while he awaits sentencing. Also in the jail is Diddy, who’s awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
A brawl broke out at MDC, resulting in minor injuries to multiple inmates, requiring outside medical attention, said the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Jordan was injured at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, and according to sources, his status is "stable."
Jordan, a godson of Jay, who was slain in a New York recording studio at 37, was found guilty of murder alongside Ronald Washington, who was a childhood friend of the late DJ. Jordan and Washington were arrested in 2020 and pleaded not guilty.
Born Jason William Mizell, Jay was carrying out drug deals in the early 2000s while Run-D.M.C 's success was waning, with the murder occurring after Jordan and Washington were cut out of a $200,000 drug deal. The convicted men await sentencing as a judge examines their motion to have their convictions overturned, while Jay Bryant, the third man charged with Jay’s murder, is scheduled to go on trial in 2026.
