Lena Dunham Has Some Thoughts on the Bill Cosby Mistrial

The GIRLS' creator is speaking out.

Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial ended in a mistrial over the weekend, and many have taken to social media to voice their opinions on the verdict. One of those is Lena Dunham.

The Girls' creator and avowed feminist posted a series of thoughtful tweets to show her support for the victims of Cosby's alleged crimes.

"Bill Cosby's trial is about much more than Bill Cosby. When women see justice served, their own fear & trauma are erased," Dunham tweeted. "Survivors of sexual assault have to watch every day as the system calls them liars and denies their truth."

For Cosby, this trial is far from over as Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele has already stated his intention to retry the case, saying, "Our plan is to move this case forward as soon as possible." Hopefully Dunham's words help the alleged victims stay strong until a verdict is reached.
