Roc-A-Fella Records Co-Founder Kareem 'Biggs' Burke is Home from Prison

He attended an event over the weekend in celebration of his release.

Kareem “Biggs” Burke, an architect of Jay Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records, is home from prison and already celebrating.

Appearing at a launch event he threw in coordnation with Fourth Of November (a clothing company he's partnered with in creating), Biggs looked to be happy from pictures taken at the party, and had a lot of his old friends with him, including former Roc-A-Fella artist Cam’ron. Pusha T, who Instagramed a flick of the two, was also there.

It’s currently unknown publicly as to exactly when Biggs was released or if he’s under any post-prison legal stipulations. He was arrested in 2010 during a sting operation which focused on a marijuana trafficking operation he was involved in. In 2012 he was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiring to distribute more than 100 kilos of marijuana.

Biggs co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records in 1995 along with Dame Dash and Jay Z. A year later he played a crucial role in helping Jay release his debut album Reasonable Doubt and assisted the label in signing DJ Clue, Memphis Bleek, Freeway, Cam’ron, Juelz Santana, M.O.P., and eventually Kanye West. Roc-A-Fella disbanded in 2004 and became a subsidiary of Island Def Jam Music Group. Jay Z currently runs Roc Nation, the inferred namesake continuation of the label.
