A University of New Orleans Player Choked His Teammate During a Timeout of Their NCAA Tournament Game

The fact that the Privateers lost made it worse.

This takes March Madness to an entirely new level.

During the NCAA Tournament's First Four matchup between the University of New Orleans and Mount St. Mary's yesterday, a New Orleans player choked his teammate in a heated bench confrontation during a timeout. And the incident is quickly going viral.

The crazy scene took place late in the second half, when New Orleans forward Travin Thibodeaux looked irate over his teammate, guard Christavious Gill, not passing him the ball with enough urgency, leading to the Privateers being whistled for a costly three-second violation.

When a timeout was called, Thibodeaux followed Gill towards the squad's bench, as the two exchanged some words. Those words led to the 5-foot-8 Gill shoving the 6-foot-9 Thibodeaux away, before Thibodeaux choked his teammate in sheer anger. The incident was quickly broken up by the Privateers' coaches and players, but cameras captured it all.

Take a look at the ugly scene below.

Good grief!

They definitely put the "Madness" in March Madness with this.

Adding to their anger must have been the fact that Mount St. Mary edged New Orleans, 67-66, for a shot at the defending national champion and No. 1 overall team, Villanova, in the Tournament's first round on Monday.
