Jason Weaver is officially back on diaper duty — and from his latest Instagram post, it’s pure joy all around.

The actor and singer, who’s been beloved for decades thanks to his roles in “Smart Guy,”  “ATL,” and his current spot on Showtime’s “The Chi,” just announced that he and his partner, Gabby, welcomed a beautiful baby boy named River Jeremiah Weaver.

Weaver shared the news on Instagram with a sweet photo of himself holding his newborn son, smiling ear to ear. His caption was everything fans love about him — funny, heartfelt, and rooted in gratitude. He thanked God for blessing him and Gabby with a healthy baby boy, writing, “I first of all want to THANK my Heavenly Father/Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing this beautiful child to come into this world.”

He went on to give major love to Gabby, calling her “a beautiful, amazing, incredible, and phenomenal lady,” and praising her for how she handled the entire pregnancy and delivery. Jason also made sure to thank the doctors and nurses who helped bring River safely into the world, expressing how grateful he felt for their support and care.

Of course, he couldn’t end the post without a little humor, writing, “Aight, let me get back to changing diapers real quick. This lil dude stays droppin’ some big ones!” That line alone had fans cracking up in the comments while flooding his post with congratulations, heart emojis, and words of love.

Even though Jason’s no stranger to fatherhood, as he’s also the father to 24-year-old Jalen Weaver, it’s clear this new chapter feels just as special. Congratulations to Jason and Gabby on the arrival of baby River — a blessing that already has his dad completely wrapped around his tiny little finger.
